He has recently opened his own production company, Dan Workman Music, with offices in the SugarHill complex. Dan Workman Music can be reached at 713-926-2544.

His background is as diverse as his client list. He has played guitar in 18 piece jazz bands and as a sideman for several singer songwriters. Dan was a founding member of the controversial and critically acclaimed art/rock/noise band, Culturcide. These days, he plays in the studio and as a featured guest on stage with many of the artists and bands he produces.

Dan's production philosophy is to create a safe environment for musical magic to occur. He is known for going to great lengths to insure that the vibe of each session encourages the finest performance possible. Although the actual recording has to be world class, he believes that the pursuit of that technical excellence should be transparent to those who are performing.

Dan says, "Incredible music gets recorded in one of two ways: you can either get lucky, which is great when it happens, or you can work really, really hard. I don't believe in depending solely on luck." Another one of his sayings best sums up his efforts; "Truly phenomenal CD's are simply too much work not to have a super-great time while you make them!"

Dan and his wife, Christi, have a young teenage daughter, Joe Ann, who occasionally fills in at the reception desk at SugarHill. Three very headstrong cats round out the family.

Dan is a vintage motorcycle enthusiast who is passionate about riding his 1977 BMW R60/7 over long distances. Fortunately, he also enjoys fixing it when it breaks down.
