Vibe Committee Brings "Flavor" to SugarHill

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) – November 30th, 2005 – Vibe Committee is Houston’s newest export in the Houston music scene, with a sound that’s hard to define; covering a wide variety of genres including acid jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, R&B, reggae and rock.

Vibe Committee just completed recording and mixing their album “Flavor” with SugarHill’s Senior Staff Engineer Steve Christensen.  “Flavor” was tracked in SugarHill’s Studio B and mixed in Studio C during July and September 2005.

Lead guitarist and vocalist Mike Whitebread commented on the sound they were going for, “We stuck loyally to our live sound, which offers a pretty full kaleidoscope of sounds. However, we were able to completely capture the essence of the band in a way that has a different feel than the live shows and can be relived again and again.”

The album was self-produced, where each band member was involved in all decisions about the project.   Whitebread continued to comment how easily the recording process came along, aided by Steve Christensen’s chemistry with the band; “He fit in well with the band, and made the whole process straight-up fun.”

Mark your calendar, as the 12-song album will be released December 16th at the popular Houston venue, Rudyards .  The release party also includes SugarHill recording artists The Medicine Show and SkyBlue 72.  SkyBlue 72 are also releasing their new self-titled album that was engineered and mixed by Christensen as well.
