(HOUSTON, TEXAS) – August 23rd, 2006 – Legendary Houston music recording studio, SugarHill Recording Studios, and the Pacifica Radio Network, launched The SugarHill Sessions radio show in April 2006, on Houston’s Pacifica affiliate, 90.1FM KPFT.

The SugarHill Sessions has been a success, profiling indie artists every month including Marah (Yep Roc Records), Bring Back The Guns , Ume (Pretty Activity Records), Jana Hunter (Gnomonsong) and Todd Snider (Oh Boy Records) to focus attention on live independent music in the southeast area of Texas.

This month The SugarHill Sessions hosts Houston Press Music Awards winner Spain Coloured Orange, who scooped four awards last month including; Local Musician of the Year; Best Indie Rock; Best Keyboardist and Album of the Year acclaimed Nashville folk this.

The session includes an in-studio performance by the band, playing songs off their latest album “Hopelessly Incapable Of Standing in the Way” and a sneak preview of two new untitled songs that will be featured on their new album.  The session also includes a comprehensive interview by renowned KPFT DJ Rhonda Garner, discussing the local music scene, getting signed to their new label Lucid Records and the infamous “curse” of the Houston Press Awards.

Armed with a Fender Rhodes, Moog-esque synthesizers, a trumpet and a 70’s sound akin to ELO and Supertramp; the band performs with an intensity that is well represented on the show.  Be sure to tune in to The SugarHill Sessions with Spain Coloured Orange, this Friday August 25th on KPFT 90.1FM at 2pm.  The show can also be streamed live from http://www.kpft.org.
