SugarHill Rocks for Rise
(HOUSTON, TEXAS) - March 11th, 2005 - SugarHill Recording Studios is on a hot trail supporting local music talent in Houston. SugarHill Recording Studios is one of the contributing sponsors of the Rise School of Houston's annual Rockin' for Rise concert, which will be held at The Meridian on May 21st.
The Rise School of Houston is a non-profit organization for pre-school children with Downs Syndrome and other disabilities, and they have created awareness and garnered support of the Houston community through their benefits.
Rockin' for Rise will feature some of Houston's finest rock bands including the Southern Backtones , Faceplant and Silverleaf, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the school. This year they have taken the concert to grander proportions featuring more artists, and being recognized by Billboard as a listed event on their events calendar.
In addition, The Rise School is organizing a Battle of the Bands, where 7 upcoming Houston rock bands will battle it out at live rock music venue, Scout Bar, on March 12th from noon to 7pm. The winning band will receive the ultimate prize package of 20 hours of free recording time at the legendary SugarHill Recording Studios, and a performance slot at the Rockin' for Rise concert.
"This is a great way to promote the local Houston rock scene, and do it for a great cause at the same time!" commented SugarHill's Studio Manager, Christi Workman , on the event.
