SugarHill's Last Surprise

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) –April 26th, 2005– Indie/pop trio Last Surprise were busy at SugarHill Recording Studios tracking and mixing their latest album with SugarHill’s Senior Staff Engineer, Steve Christensen.

Last Surprise
are Ken Mosley (Guitars/Vocals/Piano/Modular Synth), Scott Johnson (Bass) and Aaron Denton (Drums), creating their signature blend of overdriven guitars and bass tones accompanied by powerful pop vocal melodies.

Christensen and the band tracked the album to 2” analog in SugarHill’s Studio A and B and mixed in Studio C using Protools 24 MIX-cubed.

Their new album, titled The Courage EP includes four new tracks:

1.   Speaker (Voice)
2.   Rush
3.   Doesn’t Matter
4.   Idle Time

Mosley described how they prepared themselves prior to entering the studio: “Most of the songs were written months before entering the studio and we even went as far to pre-produce it on a demo. We wanted to enter the studio worrying only about the general recording instead of wasting time on writing.”

Mosley further elaborated on the album’s recording process where they invested a lot of time with Christensen getting all their EQ’s and tones finalized during tracking rather than mixing.

Even though the album does not have a scheduled release date yet, they do plan to independently release it for label and distribution deals.
