Legendary Guitar Prodigy Records at SugarHill
(HOUSTON, TEXAS) - February 15, 2005 - Love Street Light Circus Feel Good Machine is the new album title of Houston's legendary guitar prodigy, Kenny Cordray.
Recorded at his home studio in early 2004 and mixed at SugarHill Recording Studios with Chief Engineer Andy Bradley in Studio C, the album pays homage to Cordray's blues guitar roots and features a variety of guest performances by local Houston artists including Tommie Lee Bradley (vocals), Kelly Dean (saxophone), Ian Varley (of funk/jazz band Drop Trio on Keyboards), Ralz Mathius (vocals) and Todd Harrison (drums). Bradley and Cordray share production credits on the album.
With a remarkable talent and music career, Kenny Cordray is best known for co-writing the song "Francine" released on ZZ Top's album, Rio Grande Mud. Cordray has played with other notable musicians including the great John Mayall , John Lee Hooker , Jerry Lee Lewis , ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons , and notorious bassist and Jazz composer Jaco Pastorious.
With his new album however, Cordray will continue to prove his influence on the Texas guitar scene. "This album is a total departure from my other albums," he said. "With Andy at the controls, I have been able to experiment a lot more from what I normally do."
Mark your calendar, as Cordray will be featured live on KPFT 90.1 FM on Joe's Roadhouse Show on February 19, at 3pm when he will debut his new album in it's entirety. The performance will be recorded live from The Rhythm Room and webcast on KPFT's website. Bradley will be Kenny's Front of House Engineer for that evening, bringing back the studio vibe they both created on the album.
