SugarHill Records 5th Dimension Singer

(HOUSTON, TEXAS)-November 16, 2004- Joyce Pierce , former singer of the famed 60's/70's pop quintet The 5th Dimension , is currently at SugarHill Recording Studios recording her first solo album entitled 24/7 Intimate Praise with Producer Dan Workman .

Workman, an elected NARAS Governor, is co-owner/President of SugarHill Recording Studios and owner of Dan Workman Music. Workman has recorded artists including Beyonce, ZZ Top, Clay Walker and Destiny's Child.  

Workman's production team includes SugarHill's Senior Staff Engineer Steve Christensen, Kevin Ryan and Shaun Green providing composition and arrangement.   Green also provided his drum sequencing skills on two of the songs.

The 12-song project began in September 2004 and will continue until early next year when Pierce plans on shopping the album for record label and distribution deals. Tracking took place in SugarHill's Studio B and mixing in Studio A.

Joyce Pierce joined the Grammy Award winning group The 5th Dimension in November 1979, replacing singer Marilyn McCoo. She spent the next 7 years on a whirlwind of tours singing hits such as One Less Bell To Answer, Up Up and Away and Let The Sunshine InShe had the opportunity to sing for former president Ronald Reagan at the White House in 1982, in addition to appearing on acclaimed shows such as Soul Train and the Broadway hit Ain't Misbehavin'.

Pierce left the group in 1987 to focus on her husband and 3 children. She maintained a low-key music profile until August 2003 when she decided to return to the music scene with this new album.

Workman describes the music as "contemporary Christian with an old school R'n'B/funk feel mixed in with modern R'n'B vocal arrangements".
