"The SugarHill Sessions" Hosts Jana Hunter on Pacifica's KPFT 90.1 FM

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) – June 20th, 2006 – Legendary Houston music recording studio, SugarHill Recording Studios, and the Pacifica Radio Network, have launched The SugarHill Sessions radio show on Houston’s Pacifica affiliate, 90.1FM KPFT.

The SugarHill Sessions has profiled indie artists including Marah, Bring Back The Guns and Ume to focus attention on live independent music in the southeast area of Texas.  

This month The SugarHill Sessions hosts Texas indie/folk chanteuse Jana Hunter.  The format of the show will include a live, in-studio performance, and an in depth interview with KPFT DJ Rhonda Garner .

Jana Hunter’s debut solo album “The Blank Unstaring Heirs of Doom” is the first release on Devendra Banhart’s new label, Gnomonsong.  Banhart became a mentor and supreme supporter for Jana Hunter after Hunter opened for Banhart in 2005.

Hunter performs haunting melodies off her debut album in addition to new compositions.  She also discusses with KPFT DJ Rhonda Garner her musical influences, planning a tour by boat, and debut album.
