SugarHill Goes Back to School with the Grammys

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) -January 3, 2005- Dan Workman , co-owner/President of SugarHill Recording Studios and owner of Dan Workman Music, will be a panelist in a national outreach program organized by NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) called Grammy In The Schools. The program objective is to provide insight to high school students about opportunities and careers in the music business.  

As an elected NARAS Governor, Workman will participate in a moderated discussion between students and other music industry notables. Workman has recorded major artists including Beyoncé, ZZ Top, Clay Walker and Destiny's Child.

The program entitled Music Collaboration will be divided into two segments and will take place at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts on January 18, 2005.

The first segment, called "It Begins With a Song," will focus on professionals who are involved in the creative process of music, such as performers, arrangers, producers, songwriters, and engineers.  The second segment, called "Music Business," delves into what happens once the music product is finalized. The panel will include managers, A&R reps, business executives, publishers, attorneys, and publicists.

Among the panelists is blues legend Calvin Owens who has recorded plenty of albums at SugarHill.  He is also scheduled for a live performance at the school.
