Bo Jones Rocks at SugarHill
(HOUSTON, TEXAS) -December 20, 2004- Rock trio Bo Jones was recently at SugarHill Recording Studios finishing up their new album that was tracked and mixed by SugarHill's Junior Engineer, Leigh Crain.
The 10-song album was tracked to 2" analog tape in Studio B and then transferred to Pro Tools. Crain mixed the songs in Studio C using Pro Tools 24 MIX-cubed during the months of November and December 2004.
Bo Jones is Nick Greer on Piano and Lead Vocals, and twin brothers Louis Messina on Drums and Christopher Messina on Guitar and Background Vocals. Born and raised in Houston, they classify their music as rock with blues influences that range from Pink Floyd to Aerosmith to Greenday.
Greer explained how their sound has changed from their previous 3 song demo that was recorded at SugarHill in October 2003: "We have matured so much over the past year, and this time we laid 2-3 guitars using Marshall amps, and tried out different micing techniques. We also used the ebow a lot more, and included a string and organ section."
They are currently mastering their album at SugarHill's sister company Essential Sound, and plan a CD release party on January 15, 2005 at Helios.
